The Köhlbrandbrücke seen from above

The Köhlbrand Bridge

Until 3 January 2010, the most important and most beautiful bridges in Hamburg will be presented in an exhibition. With its 2500 buildings, the Hanseatic city has more bridges than Venice, London or Amsterdam. The most well-known are the Elbbrücken, the Lombardsbrücke and the Köhlbrandbrücke. In addition to original building plans from the 19th century, historical, mostly unpublished photographs and construction models are shown in the Museum of Work. Visitors can reconstruct the statics and design of the bridges on models and subsequently reconstruct them in a workshop.
