The Radio and Television Corporation on Wednesday issued an explanatory statement on the circulation of members of the Shura Council who believe they are unable to provide distinctive and competitive media content.
The Authority said that the Council discussed the annual reports of the Authority for the years 2015, 2016 and 2017, and did not discuss the reports in 2018 and 2019, which saw a development in the content of the programs of Saudi channels.
She added that the years 2018 and 2019 also recorded high rates of watch channels in the Gulf and the Arab world, noting that the channel (SBC) and the Saudi channel recorded advanced levels of viewing rates, and the impact of increasing the income from advertising.
"This confirms that the programmatic content of the channels is unique and meets the requirements of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in the areas of entertainment, education and financial returns for the State sectors.
