The US Federal Reserve decided to keep the key rate at 2.25-2.5 percent.

Nine of the 10 members of the council's leadership voted in favor of the resolution during a meeting on Wednesday.

The Federal Reserve expected to cut its benchmark interest rate by 2020.

Last year, the Fed raised its key interest rate four times, most recently on December 19, when it raised interest rates from 2.25 percent to 2.25 percent to 2.5 percent.

The Fed released its forecast on key economic indicators. He expected US GDP to increase by 2.1 percent in 2019.

The Council raised its forecast for an increase in GDP in 2020 from 1.9 to 2 percent.

The reserve also lowered its forecast for inflation in 2019 from 1.8 to 1.5 percent, and in 2020 from 2 to 1.9 percent.

The level of unemployment is expected to fall to 3.6 percent in 2019.

The Fed is expected to hold its next meeting on July 30-31.
