The 51-year-old patient, Nick Glover, planned to hold his wedding in June, but his plans changed after he was admitted to Wigan Hospital in Greater Manchester on April 27 and was told by doctors that he had pancreatic cancer.
Doctors and hospital staff urged Glover to hold the wedding as soon as his health deteriorated markedly. Glover agreed to hold the wedding ceremony at the hospital's church, one day after doctors advised him.
The wedding was attended by a group of relatives and friends, as well as a team of doctors and nurses. Glover was unable to enjoy even a few days of his marriage. The man died a few hours after the wedding.
