Due to the start of the summer holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia, Belgium and parts of the Netherlands, the ADAC expects a long traffic jam on the highways on the weekend of 4./5. July 2009. From Friday noon, it could give the first traffic jams, according to the traffic club. Added to this is the start of the plant holidays at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg and the second travel wave from five federal states, where the holidays have already begun. Particularly congested are the following routes: Highways to the North and Baltic Sea, A1 Cologne – Bremen – Lübeck – Puttgarden, A2 Cologne – Dortmund – Hanover, A3 Cologne – Frankfurt – Nuremberg, A4 Eisenach – Erfurt – Dresden, A5 Kassel – Frankfurt – Karlsruhe, A6 Mannheim – Heilbronn – Nuremberg, A7 Hamburg – Flensburg, A7 Hamburg – Hannover – Kassel, A8 Stuttgart – Munich – Salzburg, A9 Nürnberg – Munich, A61 Mönchengladbach – Koblenz – Ludwigshafen, A72 Chemnitz – Hof, A93 Inntaldreieck – Kufstein and A99 bypass Munich.
