Paris: three new indictments of police officers of the Bac
Extortion of funds on drug dealers, drug trafficking and robberies: the Bac eighteenth arrondissement of Paris has been shaken for a week by a corruption case, in which five police officers in total were indicted.
The main suspect, a 45-year-old brigadier now in prison, and a 38-year-old peacekeeper were the first to be questioned in this case.

Two other men, non-police, had been indicted at the same time, including for active bribery. "They are notably suspected of corrupting Bylka," nickname of the brigadier in the district, "considered by the justice as the organizer of the malpractices", according to the Days.
Paid "protections"
The two police officers are suspected of having "protected traffickers of drugs for remuneration" and to have laundered the money thus obtained, said Saturday a source familiar with the matter to AFP.
"They were reselling information on anti-drug policing devices and racketing drug dealers," according to a source close to the investigation.
The brigadier and one of his alleged corrupters were then placed in pre-trial detention and the two other suspects released under judicial supervision.

Two of them can no longer do their job
On Thursday, three other members of this anti-crime squad were indicted for "forgery in public writing" and for "unauthorized transport and possession of narcotics" after being held in police custody, according to the judicial source, confirming a information of the Days and Europe 1.
Two of them are also accused of "criminal conspiracy to commit the offense of passive bribery". One of the suspects is also suspected of misuse of the police file, it was said.
The three were placed under judicial control, with ban from appearing in the eighteenth arrondissement and, for two of them, prohibition to exercise their profession of policeman, it was specified.
The case, part of a denunciation for suspicions of corruption targeting the police brigadier led the Paris prosecutor to open in 2018 a preliminary investigation and then a judicial inquiry.
