In the presence of His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Ulama, State Minister of Artificial Intelligence, Deputy Managing Director of Dubai Foundation for the Future, Microsoft today officially launched its first data center in the Middle East, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, to support digital transformation initiatives in the UAE and the region.

The country's technology giant is part of a $ 2 billion investment announced recently by the company to expand its cloud computing services around the world. This year, the company plans to launch data centers in Switzerland, France and Germany.

"The launch of data centers in the UAE will enhance digital transformation in the public and private sectors, place high technology capabilities at the disposal of companies of all sizes and establish the country as a global center for computing services worldwide," he said.

The data economy, which is the fuel of the global economy today, will add $ 13 trillion to the world economy by 2030, he said.

"The company is targeting data centers across the Middle East for more than a million companies in the Middle East over the next three years," said Syed Hashish, general manager of Microsoft Gulf.
