The history festival takes place at the foot of the Wartburg Castle
After a one-year break Eisenach lures in the summer again with the medieval festival "Luther – The Festival". The highlight of the spectacle from 21 to 23 August 2009, according to the organizers of the premiere of the play "Luther's Devil". More than 100 professional and amateur actors, horses and hawks play in the play, which deals with the reformer and the church. More than 150 music groups, jugglers, traders and artisans from Europe are expected to attend the historic festival in the Old Town.
