«Majid Al Futtaim» reduces water consumption 7% for sustainability
Majid Al Futtaim, the leading retail, retail, and entertainment community in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, has released its Sustainability Report for 2018, which has shown positive progress towards the goals of its entire sustainable development strategy, Today means changing the future ».
The report highlights the low carbon footprint and water use of 4% and 7%, respectively, despite the addition of 44 new assets to the Group's operations. While the company has made steady progress towards the goals set in its strategy in 2018, it has also committed itself to addressing 10 out of 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations and has joined the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
"Majid Al Futtaim has always been at the forefront of environmentally friendly initiatives across the region, and we have begun to think about integrating sustainability into our business since 2012. Our 2018 report highlights the significant progress that has been made in the region," said Ibrahim Al Zu'bi, Chief Sustainability Officer at Majid Al Futtaim Holding. On our journey towards sustainability, in order to reduce our environmental impact, support the communities in which we work, and provide more sustainable experiences for our customers. These reductions in carbon production and water use in particular underscore our interest in sustainability and show progress toward our goal of achieving the positive outcome in 2040.
