The Egyptian national team won a tough victory for Zimbabwe in the opening match of the African Nations Cup hosted by Egypt for a goal for nothing.
Egyptian striker Mahmoud Hassan, nicknamed "Trezeguet", scored the only goal in the 41st minute.
The two teams looked pale in the match against more than 70,000 spectators and fans, but the exit of the Egyptian team with three points of this match satisfied the huge fans in the end.

Hassan managed to strengthen his goal two minutes after the fifth minute of the second half with a shot from the edge of the penalty area. Goalkeeper Sibanda also saved from a powerful shot from Salah in the 66th minute and sent it to a corner.
Sibanda also managed to salvage his goal from a second attack from the Liverpool striker, who was alone in the 87th minute, but his shot was weak and the goalkeeper was able to repel it.

Tight security
The Cairo International Stadium in the east of the Egyptian capital hosted the opening ceremony of the tournament, which witnessed a crisis due to the appearance of the flag of the Polisario Front by mistake, which called for an Egyptian apology to Morocco.
